William “Wesley” Ewing, age 77 of Nixa, MO passed away on June 15, 2024 at his home after a long illness. Wesley, as he was known to most, was born on October 27, 1946 in Strawn, TX to Dick and Eunice (Calhoun).
Wesley was a strong Christian, a cherished husband, father. He was a member of the Kansas Expressway Church of Christ and a devout Bible reader and spiritual leader. His Christian values were the foundation of his life and marriage to Karen.
As an active church member he participated in many activities. Wesley had a remarkable talent for cooking and baking especially for large gatherings. Whether it was a church potluck, a family reunion or a neighborhood social, Wesley’s cooking was the highlight of the event leaving lasting memories for everyone who tasted his desserts and savory dishes. His chocolate cake and apricot pies were world class.
He spent his business career in the accounting and banking business. He retired C.E.O. of the Mercer County, New Jersey Credit Union. He relocated to Missouri in 2008 to be closer to family.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Eunice Ewing. Wesley was united in marriage to Karen (Jones) Ewing. They celebrated 57 years of marriage, she survives at the home. It was her love that allowed Wesley to remain in the home throughout this illness. He is survived by his children, son Bradley Ewing and his wife Daphne; daughter Connie Crowell, her husband Stephen; four grandchildren: Blake, Shelby, Hayley, Kaitlyn, two step-grand-children: Alyson and Tyler; one great-grandson, Damon, his brother Dickie Ewing, and his wife, Betty.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
