Wilma Irene (Campbell) Smith, a long-time resident of Springfield, passed on November 16, 2018 at the age of 93. She had been a resident of Phoenix, AZ for the past 4 years. Wilma is predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Smith, her brother, Harry Campbell, and her sister, June Buffington.
She is survived by her children – Don Smith and spouse Sally of Aurora, CO, and Linda Robens of Peoria, AZ; 3 grandchildren – Steve Smith and spouse Elizabeth of Denver, CO, Liz Littell and spouse Kiel of Peoria, AZ, and Lauren Robens of Phoenix, AZ; 4 great-grandchildren – Samantha and Haley Smith of Denver, CO, and Carter and Baylor Littell of Peoria, AZ; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Wilma was born in Battlefield, MO on January 28, 1925. After graduating from Republic High School and Draughon’s Business School, she married Bill and they were married for over 60 years. Wilma and her husband owned a variety of businesses, including an antique store, jewelry stores, and a woodworking business.
Wilma was a member of the Church of Christ, attending South National, East Sunshine, and Sunset congregations in Springfield over her life. She was one of the first women members of Lion’s Club in Springfield. Wilma was a life-long nurturer, providing care to her family and friends, and others who needed some extra assistance.
The Service will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 10 AM at the Greenlawn South Funeral home Springfield, MO.
At 11:00 AM, Friends and Family are welcome to join the Family for a gathering at Mexican Villa South at 2755 S. Campbell Ave, Springfield, MO 65807.
Donations may be made to the Springfield Lion’s Club in lieu of flowers.
