Mrs. Jean Graves, age 85 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility Bolivar, MO.
She was born September 7, 1933, in Marion, Polk County, MO, to Virgil Harlan and Emma Jane (Slagle) Wells.
Jean was saved at an early age at Slagle Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She then joined the church and remained a member the rest of her life.
She was united in marriage to Ray G. Graves June 10, 1956, and to this union was born two children, Roxanna and Ray Anthony.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years Ray G. “Dyke” Graves; a great grandson Harrison Schmidt: and one brother Dane Wells.
Jean is survived by her children: Roxanna Scott and husband Van of Springfield, MO, and Ray Graves and wife Julie of Pleasant Hope, MO; four grandchildren: Emily Blankenship, Matthew Graves, Andrew Graves, and Isaiah Scott; two great granddaughters: Nyah, and Harper; her sister Rosie Graves and husband Clarence of Bolivar, MO, and they’re daughters: Sandy and Milli; A sister-in-law, Tania Wells and her daughter Brandy; a brother-in-law, Joe Graves, his wife Betty and their sons, Mike and Todd, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO, with Bro. Joe Sprague officiating. Burial will follow at Slagle Cemetery. Music will be by the Slagle and Sunset Church Choir’s. Pallbearers will be Matt Graves, Andrew Graves, Todd Graves, Mike Graves, Isaiah Scott, and Ryan Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul McKnight, Joe Graves, Clarence Graves, and Tim Thompson.
