Wilma Sue Kinkade, 73 years old, Springfield, MO. passed away in her home, on July 2nd, 2022.
Wilma was born the daughter of Thurman “Buddy” Jerry Brown, and Evelyn Pearl (Griffith) Brown, on Sunday, February 27th, 1949. Wilma was Mother to 3 children: Steve Lawson 52, Evelyn Standiford 50 and Lisa Cooper 48.She was a hard-working lady that had many jobs throughout her career. She worked as a supervisor at Vermillion Wood Factory, a maid for the hospital as well as for different hotels, to the job she loved being a Home Health-Aid for Oxford Healthcare of which she retired from in 2011.
Wilma enjoyed hobbies such as crocheting, gardening, photography, and jewelry making. She loved cooking and making sure everyone was well fed.
Most of all she enjoyed each holiday, picnics and special celebrations with family and friends. She was never too old or too tired to tease, chase, and play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spoiling each one. She was blessed with 11 Grandchildren: Danielle, Jade, Christopher, Kyle, Katie, Katrina, Joshua, Justin, Jordan, Jonah and Joseph. She then graduated to being a Great-Grandma to 4: Jordan, Alexander, Hunter and Zane. Wilma was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Springfield, MO.
Her survivors include Son: Steve Lawson, Daughter: Evelyn Standiford, Daughter: Lisa Cooper. Along with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Others included her sister: Virginian McCurtain, sister & brother-in-law: Cleta and Bill Mitchell, sister: Mary Buttler, sister: Delores Elbow. She has cousins, nieces and nephews as well.
Wilma was preceded in death by both her parents: Thurman “Buddy” Jerry Brown, and Evelyn Pearl (Griffith) Brown, her two brothers, Harold Griffith, and Jerry Brown, and a sister, Glenda Brown. She also was preceded in death by her niece Stacey Souders, and 2 nephews: Mike King and Timothy Mccurtain.
She was loved by special friends that became family forever to her. These special chosen family include Pete Alsup, and Sabrina Barron along with the Kinkade family. Special thanks to the excellent Phoenix & Hospice care!
Funeral Services for: Wilma Sue Kinkade, will be Friday July 8th, 2022, at 1:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield Mo with the burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield Mo immediately following the services.
