Bernice Gibson 85, Pleasant Hope, MO. passed away in her home on Sunday, September 15, 2019. She was born in Springfield, Mo. on August 29, 1934, to Samuel and Pearl (Campbell) Curry. She was a housekeeper for Mt. Vernon Park Care Center for many years. She sold Avon for many years also. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and reading her Bible every day.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Eugene Gibson, one son, a grand-daughter and a grandson, and her five siblings: Samuel Curry, Virgil Curry, George Curry, Bertha Westmorland, and Burnis Gibson Sr. and several other family members. She is survived by four daughters: Sharon McKee and her husband, Donald, Terry Lindly and her husband Pastor James Lindly, Janet Peaslee and her husband, Roger, and Janice Wilkins. two sons: Billy L. Brown and his wife Manya, and Ricky Gibson, 23 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, two sisters: Linda Colvert and her husband, Pat, and Barbara Curry, and one brother: Steven Greek and his wife Debbie.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2019, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Bellview Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
