RIP Mr. Pippen and sympathies to his family. He always struck me as the very definition of erudite. He was kind, friendly and engaging. He always called me Daw•veed ... French pronunciation of David. I will never forget him.

Louis Pippen was one of the most brilliant, witty, and kind people I have ever met. He loved his work as a librarian, and instilled the love of reading and research in many students. Literature has lost one of its best cheerleaders.

I've been a member of the northside community for over 40 years. And, yes, Louis was know fondly by northside neighbors and friends! Whether he was in my pharmacy or outside of the store, he always was sociable and polite to take all of the time in the world to visit and share his concerns. Sincerely, George Graddy
