Bruce Buz Braithwaite went to his forever home in heaven on November 16, 2018. He was born on February 23, 1947 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Harold and Ruth Braithwaite. He spent his childhood years working at their beekeeping farm until leaving for Bible College. He was a lifelong learner, earning multiple degrees, including a doctorate from Western Theological Seminary. He was married to his childhood sweetheart Karen for 47 years. In the 1970’s their family moved to Brazil, where he helped to conceive and execute the dream to build a large Bible School there, with extensions reaching to multiple nations of the world. Bruce was a keen business man and possessed a rare creativity for meeting practical ministry needs. He was skilled in publishing and spent many of his last years helping to provide Christian education materials for foreign fields. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his children, Kari and Bryan, their spouses Travis and Kitina, and grandchildren Caleb, Nathan, Kelise, Kambria, Kosette and Benjamin.
Services for Bruce will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Evangel Temple 2020 E Battlefield Rd. Springfield, Missouri 65804 under the care of Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
