Lelia Margueritha Green joined our Lord in Heaven at 8:58pm on August 22, 2018. Ms. Green passed peacefully in her sleep in her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde C. Green and Dora Irvine Green, and her two brothers James C. Green and Bruce A. Green. She is survived by her nephew Raymond L. Green, niece Stephanie E. Green, and Amanda Green. She is also survived by 11 beautiful grand-nieces and nephews, 2 great-grandnieces and nephews, and one very loyal black lab, Zeus. Lelia was born in Phoenix, Arizona on September 1, 1947. Eventually, Lelia and her family moved to the city of Springfield, where she lived until her passing. Ms. Green devoted her life to Nursing, having graduated from The Burge College of Nursing 1967. She later obtained her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Drury University and became one of Springfield’s first nurses working for Cox Hospital. A devout Catholic, she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Springfield. She served our Lord and gave of herself so willingly of all who came to her. In lieu of flowers, Lelia requested that donations be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Springfield, MO to assist those in their time of need. Donations may be made directly at the Church. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Camp Ground Cemetery, near Chesapeke Mo. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018, with visitation to follow, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
