I’ve only met a handful of people who always make you feel better after you talk with them. They light up the room, they make you smile – they enrich people’s lives in a number of ways, because they are always seeing the bigger, brighter picture. It’s been several years since I worked with Tom, but I will never forget him as he was all of these things and more. A great many people will miss him. I am so very sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you.

Corbin Potter left a message on May 7, 2018:
Marla and Family, we had the pleasure of working with Tom each year at the annual O'Reilly Auto Part's Conference. He was a pleasure to work with each year. While we were simply "hired hands", he made us feel like we are part of the O'Reilly Family. He had endless energy, an extremely positive attitude that was often key to getting through the long days and nights of the event. Simply saying he will be missed is an major understatement, we will think of Tom the minute we start planing...until the minute we leave at the conference and repeat that each and every year. While we only got to see him face to face a few days out of the year we often spoke by email and phone he truly made planning for the event fun. On this day, we mourn with you, your family, Tom's close friends and the O'Reilly family as Tom was truly one of a kind. God Speed my Friend! Sincerely, The Event 1 Team Corbin Potter, Lee Ann Potter, Scott Cutten, Scott West, Adam Walters, Tony Ries, Steven Williams, Alex Williams, Danielle Staton
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I worked with Tom and his team, here at the O'Reilly Corporate Office. I didn't know Tom well, but every time I had to reach out to him with a question related to an event, he was so warm, helpful, and took time not only to share the answer to the question, but to explain the "why" behind the answer. He represented the best of O'Reilly's Culture and I am so terribly sorry to hear of his passing. Marla and Tom's family and friends: you are all in my thoughts. May you find strength in this difficult time.

Marla: It is so hard to believe that we are leaving this condolence for you in Tom's memory. Our minds have gone back to so many times that we were together at the fire department. We are so very thankful that God allowed us the opportunity to get to know Tom. He was always such a joy to be around, what a personality he had. We know your heart is breaking, we can only imagine the feelings you must be having. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers asking God to give you comfort as only He can.
