Alice Norman-Spackman was born August 6, 1951 and departed this life November 5, 2017. She is survived by her husband Jim Spackman, two sons; Charles Bryan and Timothy Douglas Freeman, one prized grandson; Charles Drake Freeman, two brothers; Jimmie and Dennis Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy (Brown) Anderson and a late husband Maurice Norman.
Alice spent many years in banking and then later owned an alteration shop. She then took her love of Barbie dolls and turned it into a collection and on to a large Barbie store in downtown Springfield. She then travelled the world with Mattel. Those travels raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to feed, clothe, educate and medically treat children around the world. After thirty years, she sold the business, retired and cared for her elderly mother many years. She then joined Jim in assisting people to pre-plan their funerals with Greenlawn Funeral Homes.
In late 2014, Alice was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. With a positive attitude, the expert medical care of Dr. Leo and his crew at Central Care Cancer Center in Bolivar, Missouri, God allowed her to enjoy 3 comfortable years. The Lord above allowed her those years to encourage and witness to others.
