Mr. Jerry Lee Stokes, age 72 of Pleasant Hope, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in his home. He was born July 28, 1944, in Springfield, MO, to Claude and Rachel (Witt) Stokes. He is a US Army veteran. He drove trucks over the road most of his working days.
He preceded in death by his parents; his son Mark Stokes; six brothers: Thomas J., Lloyd R., William D., James E, Tommy L., and Paul D. Stokes; and two sisters: Claudina Mae Stokes, and Clarenda Ellen Hudson.
Jerry is survived by a grandson Nickolas Stokes of the home; one brother Johnny Stokes and wife Sally of Pleasant Hope, MO; one sister Barbara Hildreth of Springfield, MO; a close nephew Robert Stokes of Brighton, MO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Pitts Chapel. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 3, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Brighton Cemetery Brighton, MO.
