Emily Mallonee, the daughter of John Edmund and Christa (Kimmons) Swadley, was born January 17, 1915, in Clever, Missouri, and died August 20, 2009, at the age of 94 years and eight months. She was united in marriage on February 19, 1934, to Willie Mallonee, and they enjoyed over 69 years together. She was a homemaker, loved to cook and enjoyed needlework and piecing beautiful quilts. She was known by many people for the beautiful quilts she made. Emily was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. She and Willie were active in three other area Baptist churches. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother Floyd Swadley; sister Ruby Letsch-Roderique; grandson Jason Mallonee; daughter-in-law Jane Mallonee; and son-in-law Jerry McKiney. She is survived by one son, Jerry and Kathy Mallonee, Springfield; one daughter, Ida Mae McKiney, Springfield; grandchildren, Andy and Blanca Mallonee, Ozark, Mo., Lori McKiney and Troy Walborg, Leawood, Kan., and Linda and Frank Hammill, Springfield, Mo.; granddaughter Michelle Edwards and son, Luke; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Haley Mallonee, Ozark, Grayson McKiney, Springfield, and Brittany and Courtney Horn, Springfield; sister Lydia and James Youngblood, Overland Park, Kan.; brother-in-law Arnold Mallonee; sister-in-law Mary Lou Simmons, Kansas City, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, August 23, from 4 to 6 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with a memorial service at 1 p.m. Monday, August 24, with Rev. Lynn Junior Swadley officiating. Burial following the services will be in Frazier Cemetery in Boaz, Mo.
