Mrs. Shirley Mae Wallace, age 78 of Brighton, MO, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009, in the Parkview Healthcare Facility following a brave battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born June 18, 1931, in Wishart, MO, to Donovan and Edna Lucille (Van Hook) Hamilton. She was married to Frank Shelton “Bill” Wallace March 20, 1947, who precedes her in death. She was the proud owner of Shirl’s Antiques for many years. She loved to go to flea markets, auctions, and antiquing. She never missed a ballgame, or event when it came to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grand and great grandma “grammy”, and will be greatly missed!
Her parents; her husband of 62 years Bill; her brother Sam Hamilton; and a grandson Jeffrey Blatchford precede her in death.
She is survived by three daughters: Theresa Blatchford and husband Phil of Camdenton, MO, Linda Ash and husband Jeff of Brighton, MO, and Marci Riedle and husband Terry of Springfield, MO; a sister Audrey Carawan and husband Lee of Bolivar, MO; a brother Jerry Don Hamilton and wife Mary Ellen of Oxnard, CA; three grandchildren: Kristen Bilyeu and husband Chad of Altoona, IA, Travis Ash of Richmond, CA, and Jessica Cutler and husband Steve of Bolivar, MO; four great grandsons: Zachary, Nicholas, Tanner, and Lucas; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, October 1, 2009, in the Slagle Cemetery with Pastor Charles Cross officiating. Pallbearers will be Phil Blatchford, Jeff Ash, Terry Riedle, Chad Bilyeu, Steve Cutler, and Zachary Bilyeu. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday, before the service in the funeral home. Friends and family may sign a guest book or send private condolences at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
