Verda was welcomed into heaven by Jesus and loved ones on December 18, 2010 at 11:30 p.m., in Cox South with her family by her side.
Verda was born to William Woody Cook and Laura Bell McNish Cook on September 6, 1933, in Diggins, Mo.
She married Junior David Morris on January 25, 1953 in Harrison, Arkansas. Born to this union are 10 children, all whom survive her; Kathy and Dennis Marquis, Mt. Grove, Mo., Jamie Morris of Fordland, Mo., Brenda and Bob Rowe, of Seligman, Mo., Karen and Doug Brown, of Rogersville, Mo., Debbie and Richard Doran, of Springfield, Mo., Pamela and John Kane, of Strafford, Mo., Vickie and Randy Vinson, of Springfield, Mo., Michael Morris, of Springfield, Melisa Morris of Springfield, Mo., Danny and Heather Morris, of Fordland, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Edith Childress, Treba Bouldin, Betty Ashley, Joy and Bob Hume and Tim and Margie Cook. She leaves to mourn numerous family and friends.
Her husband of 47 years preceded her in death; along with her parents; brother, Freeman Cook; and sister, Alice Thomason; as well as three infant brothers.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice. Visitation for Verda will be in Greenlawn East Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. Service will be in the funeral home at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, December 22, 2010.
