Peggy Morrow Witt
Peggy Witt (née Eutsler) died April 27 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife and a loving and lively presence to all who knew her.
The daughter of German and Ruth Eutsler, she was born in Al Hambra, California in 1935. While attending college Peggy sang as an entertainer on KY3 TV. She received her diploma in Voice from Southwest Missouri State in 1957 and her M.A. in Education from Drury College in 1974. Peggy counted her proudest achievement as influencing the lives of countless students in a teaching career that spanned more than 30 years.
Over the years Peggy enjoyed participating in many community and social organizations including the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Springfield Area Retired Teachers’ Association and the Elks Lodge 409 Ladies Auxiliary.
Peggy’s parents, German and Ruth Eutsler and her sister Carol predeceased her. She is survived by her son and wife, Greg and Su-Ling Morrow, of St. Augustine, Florida, cherished grand-daughters Davina and Alicia; husband Albert Witt, Willard, Missouri; brother David and wife Margaret of Raleigh, North Carolina and a host of other relatives, friends and former students who will miss her dearly.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Eisenhour Cemetery, Reeds Spring, MO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Online condolences can be made at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
