Marilyn Cheatwood, age 70, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011, at St. John’s Medical Center. She was born July 15, 1941, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Baxter and Vera (Bridges) Marr. Marilyn was an accomplished and passionate pianist who loved to teach piano. She also loved to arrange flowers and was the plant whisperer. Most importantly she was a nurturing mother filled with unconditional love for her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband Randol Enstler.
She is survived by her children: Jamie Lynn VanDycke, St. Louis, MO, Dianna Vee Herschend, Branson West, MO, Richard Ryan Entsler, Phoenix, AZ
Marie Elise Wesley, Crane, MO, Rachel Brooke Cheatwood, Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren: Kyle Herschend, Tia Polidori, Dustin Entsler, Lauren Entsler , Dillon Wesley, Ronnie Wesley, Zakary Wesley; a brother Stephen Marr, Albuquerque, NM; life partner Richard Cheatwood, Springfield, MO; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield, MO. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2011, in the funeral home.
