Graveside Services for Peter H. Engler age 80 of Branson, Missouri will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri with full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home of Branson.
He died at 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013 at The Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was born on September 7, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN. the son of Norman and Ida Engler. He was a nationally known Master Woodcarver. He was the co-owner of Peter Engler Designs in the Grand Village and was dedicated to the Branson community. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He had been a resident of the area since 1962.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Engler of the home., five children: Richard Engler and wife Kathy of Camas, WA., Laurie Engler-Brokate and husband Gerald of Branson, MO., Teresa Railsback and husband Mike of Plano, TX., Rachel Simpson and husband John of Liberty, MO., Sara Haslag and husband Joe of Columbia, MO., three sisters: Patricia Kellams of Lakeview, AR., Gretchen Stevens of Cumbria, England, Donna Wooten of Hutchinson, KS., eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norman Engler, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday after the graveside service from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Silver Dollar Parlor Room inside the Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks.
