Thelma Lorene Batson, age 84, of Springfield, MO.,Passed away in her home, and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, July 8, 2013.
She was born at home, August 29, 1928, in Springfield; to Clarence and Nellie Tuck. Thelma was a graduate of Phoenix, MO School. In 1947 she married Robert Barnett, and Thelma raised 5 children of her own. Warren Batson and Thelma united their two families of five children each in January, 1962. She retired from McBee Binder as a machine operator and became a home health care giver until her first illness.
Being a dedicated baker of fresh pies and pastries, the family gathered in her kitchen every Sunday morning for the past 30 years to sample her famous homemade biscuits and gravy. She was the Matriarch of her family, spanning five generations of life, and a heart bigger than the world, along with welcoming many friends into the family.
Thelma was proceeded in death by Warren Sr.; parents, and step mother Gladys Tuck; Sisters; Betty Jane, Anna Mae, Betty Jo, and Brother Kenneth Lee.
She is survived by her brother Arthur Wayne Tuck and family Tammy, Ronnie, Tara, Cole and Brooklyn, Chantal and Kali; her children Gladys Dixon the primary care giver for the past seven years and her husband Bill Dixon, Kim Latham, Robin Batson, David and Loretta Batson, Michael and Michelle Batson, Kenneth Barnett, Edward and Janet Barnett, Sandra and Pete Hainline, Patricia Medley, and Warren Batson Jr.,

Services will be held on Saturday July 13 at 1:00pm at Greene Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Forest Tuttle officiating burial will follow Greene Lawn Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Greene Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in honor of Thelma to her family in care of Greene Lawn Memorial Gardens; 3506 North National Ave., Springfield, MO 65803.
