John David Breesawitz, 53, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013 due to cancer. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.
John was preceeded in death by his father, Paul Breesawitz. He is survived by his mother, Ambie Breesawitz; his wife, Joyce Breesawitz, of 16 years. He is also survived by three sisters and one brother; Alyce Ross and husband Royal Ross, Mary Allen, Teresa Jones and husband Lonnie Jones, and Paul Breesawitz. John is also survived by three children and two step-children, and eleven grandchildren (and unborn grandson). David Breesawitz, wife Gabby and children Coel, Dominic, and Liam; Sara Pearson, husband Jeremy, daughter Brieken, and one child on the way. Seth Breesawitz, wife Sarah and son Gabriel; Michael Prather, wife Britnie and children Courtney, Brandon, and Paislie; Michele Saint, husband Jared and children Issac, Ethan, and Lyla. John is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Upon graduation from Pleasant Hope High School in 1979, John entered the U. S. Navy until 1982. He was honorably discharged after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. John was employed with Litton Interconnect Technology in 1982 until the advancement of the M.S.in 2008. John had real compassion for the less fortunate, especially young children.
Visitation for John will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be in the chapel at Greenlawn Funeral Home South on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Springfield Victory Mission or the Pregnancy Care Center, in John’s honor, and would be greatly appreciated.
