Cleo Maxine Rector Langford Tygart was born November 7, 1918 near Dadeville, Missouri. The youngest of nine children born to James Madison and Dona Laffoon Rector. She departed this life January 13, 2014, age 95. Maxine grew up on a farm three miles west of Dadeville, Missouri. She attended Speight Grade School and graduated from Dadeville High School in 1937 and was married to Olen Langford. To this union, three children came to bless their home – Dixie Kylene, Beverly Charlene and James Max Langford. She was preceeded in death by her first husband, Olen Langford in 1969, her son, James Max Langford on March 13, 1973 and her second husband on February 16, 1974, as well as her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
Maxine has spent most of her years in Springfield, Missouri. She has been a member of Pathways United Methodist church since 1950 and attended Sunday School and church most every Sunday. She worked for Lilly Tulip and Owen’s Illinois Cup Factory for 27 years, retiring March 1, 1981.
She had many friends at work and church. They were her family and she loved them all. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Dixie Kylene Aleshire and Beverly Charlene Cantrell and a daughter in law, Debbie Selsor of Springfield, Missouri, five grandchildren, seven great grand children, one great great granddaughter, one niece, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Maxine will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2014, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens following the service. Memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, http://www.BCFO.org.
