Velma Null, 90, of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Manor at Elfindale. The daughter of Daisy and Albert Barger, she was born on Feb. 23, 1924, in Bloomfield, Mo. On June 9, 1946, Velma Barger and Erwin Null were united in marriage in Rolla, Mo. She graduated from DruryUniversity and the University of Arkansas with a Masters in English Literature. She taught English at GlendaleHigh school in Springfield, Mo., for twenty years. Velma was preceeded in death by her husband Erwin, parents, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son, Lawrence C. Null, Cote de Caza, Calif.; daughter Marilyn Prosser, Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren Justin and wife Lori Null, Laura and husband Craig Gutjahr, Jeff and wife Tara Prosser, Jeremy Prosser, Jennifer and husband Joe Cordell; and six great-grandchildren, Ivy, Jacob, Kateree, Juleah, Gavin, and Rylee; and other relatives and friends. Her celebration of life will be held at SchweitzerUnitedMethodistChurch on Monday, November 10, 2014, at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at GreenlawnMemorialGardens. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Monday at SchweitzerUnitedMethodistChurch.
