Madeline Walker, age 101, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at Woodland Manor. She was born August 14, 1913, in Dade County, MO, to James and Merta (Cassada) Woosley. She was a member of the High Street Baptist Church for over seventy years. Madeline was united in marriage to Noling “Tony” Walker in 1937. Madeline enjoyed traveling, reading her bible, doing crossword puzzles, sewing, and cooking, and sharing the stories of her youth with her family, she will always be remembered for her cherry pies.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Noling “Tony” Walker; parents, James A and Merta Woosley; one son, William Paul Walker; one daughter, Judith Ray; two brothers, Roland Woosley and L.D. Woosley ; and her grandparents, Jess and Jenni Cassada, who helped raise her. She is survived by two sons, Terry Walker, Springfield, MO, James N. Walker and wife Cecile, Springfield, MO; one daughter,Jeanine McAlister and husband Loran, Owasso, Ok; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother,Bob Woosley and wife Geraldine, Springfield, MO; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Dr. Loran McAlister officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the High Street Baptist Missions. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO
