Dorothy Elizabeth (Robberson) Opsal passed away on April 19, 2015 at the age of 99. Born in Fair Play, Mo., on February 10, 1916, Dorothy grew up in Springfield, Mo., and attended Drury College where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Mammaw, as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren referred to her, loved and enjoyed the times and memories spent with her dear family. Her love for social activities was evident in her involvement with several bridge groups, her love of traveling with friends, and her former presidency of the Soroptimist Club in Springfield. Her other interests included reading, gardening and cooking for both family and friends. Dorothy’s loving spirit will be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Walter and Anna Robberson. She is survived by her two daughters, Anne Opsal Mericle and Marilyn Opsal Keltner and husband Ken; four grandchildren, Andrew Mericle and his wife Veronica, Thom Mericle, Kandace Keltner Prewitt and husband Larry, and Kourtney Keltner Colerick and her husband Reed; and her four great-grandchildren, Elle Prewitt, Lucie Prewitt, Forest and Tucker Colerick.
A private graveside service for her family will be held on Friday, April 24, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
