Rodney Houghtling, age 53, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Rod served in the United States Navy from 1980-1984. He worked in construction and in the printing industry for several years in the Springfield area. He enjoyed watching Kansas City Chiefs football games, and he loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews. Rod is survived by his parents, John and Marilyn Houghtling; two sisters, Debbie Fox and Jennifer Houghtling and their families, which include two nieces and three nephews. A visitation will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Burial will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rods memory to the American Cancer Society.
