Florence “Joann” Neeley, 79-years-old, went on to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Branson, Missouri. After being diagnosed with Dementia in 2013, Joann lived the remainder of her life being cared for by her daughter. She was surrounded by the love of her friends, family and husband, Addison of 57 years, and enjoyed time with them, until her passing with her family by her side.
Joann was born on July 19, 1935 in Champaign, Illinois to Denzel Stewart and Florence Stewart Beasley, being raised by Cornelius “Tug” and Florence Beasley. The oldest of three children, her brother – Omar “Bob” Stewart – passed in June 2015, while her sister – Lola Landgraver – lives in Urbana, Illinois.
Joann was full of life and enjoyed her time with family and especially her husband, Addison. Addison was the love of her life and, even through her battle with dimensia, she always knew his face and enjoyed sitting by his side. Her beautiful smile and blue eyes could embrace you with love and fill your heart with joy. Throughout her life she maintained many friends and loved to play scratchers lottery tickets, in which she won quite often.
With her husband, Addison Neeley, they raised their 4 children, Bob, Ed, Connie and Sheila and had 4 children from Addison’s previous marriage Steve, Melvin, David and Mary (deceased). Over the years, Addison and Joann lived in Champaign; Illinois. Texas and finally settled in Hollister, Missouri.
Her surviving family members are numerous, but mainly include:
Mother of 8 Children & Spouses: Bob and Rhonda Neeley, Ed and Linda Neeley, Connie Neeley Clark and Sheila and Chuck Dockery, Steve, Melvin, David and Mary (deceased). Grandmother to 12: Paul and Bobby Jean, Christopher, Brandon, Erica and Emily, Tammi, David, Joe and Geani, Tyler and Tanner.
Great Grandmother to 11: Jackson and Colton Wild, Grace Keener, Danielle and Zachary Chavez, Bri and David Wisehart, Jacob Wisehart, Nalaynah Slade, Ashlynn, and Brynlynn Clark.
Survived by: Husband Addison Neeley; Mother Florence Beasley; Sister Lola Landgraver. Other family members: Too many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, to list or even count.
A memorial service with a group of family and friends will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Greenlawn Funeral Home, Branson, Missouri.
