Janice Lynn Dermody passed away on August 4, 2015 at her home in Springfield, MO. Janice was born on July 21, 1945 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was a loving wife and mother, and her grandchildren were the center of her world. Janice loved Cardinals baseball and was an avid Indiana Hoosiers basketball fan.
Janice was preceded in death by her father, Donald Coy; her mother and stepfather Betty and Paul Phillips; and two sisters, Judy Roberts and Kay Freudenberg. Janice is survived by her husband, Tom Dermody; three daughters: Angie Caufield and her husband, Jody, of Nixa; Alicia Comstock and her husband, Wayne, of Strafford; and Andrea Perez and her fiancée, Aaron Thiessen, of Puyallup, WA; five grandchildren: Kaycee and Ely Caufield, Wyatt Comstock, and Isaac and Karsyn Perez; two sisters, Kathy Ruesing and her husband, Tony, of Villa Ridge, MO, and Karen Byrd of Marshfield, MO; and a brother, Skip Coy of Phoenix, Arizona. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
The family would like to thank everyone for all of the support Janice received during her battle with cancer, and a special thanks to her Springfield Cardinals family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with a private graveside service for the family to immediately follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Children’s Miracle Network.
