James D. Watson “Jimmie Dee” age 80, passed away on December 17, 2015 in Bolivar, MO. He was born on March 11, 1935 in Springfield, MO to George Monroe Watson and Gladys Fausett McCurry. He graduated from Pleasant Hope High School and the University of Missouri with a Bachelor Degree in Journalism. He was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean conflict. He married Betty Sue Waggoner in 1960. James worked for the Department of Social Security for 25 years, moving with the job he lived in St. Louis, MO, Bismarck, N.D. Utah, St. Joseph, MO finally retiring in Pleasant Hope, MO. his favorite pastime was fishing in the local lakes.
James is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son, George William Watson and a sister Sammie Lee (Watson) Hill. James is survived by his daughter Anna Nold and her husband Dwayne, five grandchildren, Shannon Deckard and husband Jared, Rebecca Pearson and husband Andy, Clint Watson, Amanda Nold and Jamie Nold, brother-in-law Ernest Hill, daughter-in-law, Angela Watson, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his best pal, his dog Harley.
Graveside services will be on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 am in Pleasant Hope Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes, Bolivar, MO.
