Gary Allen Hessee, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, passed away at age 79, surrounded by his family on January 6, 2015. He was born September 14, 1936 in Springfield, Missouri. Gary was a lifetime resident of Springfield, Missouri, graduating from Senior High in 1954. He was a member of Crossway Baptist Church of Springfield Missouri. He has been a member of the Gate of the Temple Masonic Lodge. Gary married Jackie Reaves on June 10, 1961 and they had 54 wonderful years together. Three things in life Gary enjoyed the most were attending church, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Nina Hessee, brothers, Charles Harmon, Jack Harmon, Howard Hessee, Bob Hessee, Helen Blake and Roxie Lockridge. Gary is survived by his wife, Jackie, children: Art Hessee (Brenda), Joan Snider (Lindy), Lori Dudley (Brian), Lesa Collins (John), and Mark Hessee (Tracy). He is also survived by several grandchildren; Nathan (Sarah), Ryan (Maelyn), Justin (Sheena), Brandon (Allison), Kyle, Meagan (Ryan), Keelee, Kendra, Hannah, and Chanler, 11 great- grandchildren, one sister Mary Day, and a host of family members and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 9, from 1:00-2:00 at Greenlawn East, Funeral services will follow at 2:00. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossway Church Student Activity Center Building Fund.
