Glynda Joyce Gardner was born on January 12, 1937 to J.O. “Dude” and Helen York in Burns City Texas. She stepped into glory on March 25, 2016 at her daughter’s home surrounded by the family she loved. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband H.E. Gardner, her parents and four brothers Roger, Jim Bill, Dub and Carl York, her grandson, Caleb Freeze and a son in law Jackie Freeze, whom she loved like a son. She is survived by her sisters Betty Dyer and Freda Sloan of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. A son Ben (Kay) Gardner of Rosenberg, Texas, a daughter Leah Freeze of Springfield, Missouri, a daughter Deborah Thomas of Gainseville, Texas, and a son Allen (Michele) Gardner of Hampstead, North Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Michele Martinez, Jennifer Martinez, Samantha Brisco, Jacob Gardner, Katlyn Joyce Gardner, Brody Gardner, and David Gardner. She is also survived by thirteen great – grandchildren. She was an active member of South Campbell Baptist Church for over twenty – five years. In honor of the memory of her grandson Caleb Freeze and to give back to the community, she sewed quilts for Mercy Hospice to be used by cancer patients. Visitation will be Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Services will be Thursday March 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with burial following in U.S. National Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
