Carl Lincoln Mitchell, born in Willard, MO on November 2, 1921, died May 2, 2016 in Springfield, MO. He attended Willard High School and Draughon’s Business College. He was a WWII Army veteran. He retired after 25 years from the Postal Service as a Rural Letter Carrier. He then worked for the Green County Sheriff’s Department for 10 years.
Carl was the son of Luther and Rhoda Mitchell. He had three brothers, five sisters and has numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Louis Mitchell and son-in-law Ervin C. Tuter.
He is survived by his wife, Arletta Payne Mitchell, daughter Jean Tuter, Springfield, and his son, Don Mitchell and wife, Melissa, of Lee’s Summit, MO. He has three grandchildren, Todd Tuter and wife, Angela, Bryan Mitchell, and wife, Carol, and Erica Sprickard, and husband, Chris. He has two great-grandsons, Kasey Carl and Dylan Hart Mitchell.
Visitation will from 10:00-11:00 Saturday, May 7, at Greenlawn North followed by a graveside service at Bellview Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
