Edie Torrey passed away May 12, 2016 at the Stafford Care Center. She was born April 24, 1943 in Billmore, MO, to Floyd and Jessie Roy.
Edie was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She worked as a hairdresser, real estate agent and ran an upholstery shop with her husband Edward. She enjoyed cooking, baking and could whip up the meanest vanilla cream pie that the whole family would fight over. Edie liked traveling with Ed in their RV. For the past sixteen years they’ve traveled playing bluegrass gospel music at various churches and healthcare facilities. She enjoyed quilting, crafting and has passed out hundreds of quilts over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Floyd and Jessie Roy and a brother Billy Wayne Roy.
She is survived by her husband Edward Torrey of the home, three sons and their wives; Barry and Amy Gosnell, Bradley and Stephanie McGatha and David and Michelle Torrey, a sister Brenda Kaye O’Neill, grandchildren; Melissa and Bryan Summers and great grandchildren; Avery and Jaxson Summers.
Visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Graveside services will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Oak Lawn Cemetery Buffalo, MO.
