Dorma Kay Joplin, age 72, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2016. She was born May 11, 1944, in Inglewood, CA, to Glenn and Dorean (Singleton) Burk. Kay was a graduate of Central High School. She was united in marriage to Mickey Joplin in 1963 and to this union two daughters, Missy and Mindy and one son Michael were born. Kay enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, playing Farmville and computer Poker. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Dorean Burk; two brothers, Gary Burk and Denny Burk: and one grandson Jesse Beach.
She is survived by two daughters, Mindy Wood and husband Mitchell, Springfield, MO and Missy Beach, Springfield; one son, Michael Joplin and wife Stephanie, Willard; five grandchildren, Dustin Beach, Amber and husband Richard Wells, Amanda Wood, and Austin and Parker Joplin; three great grandchildren, Venessa, Richard, Nohlen; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 1, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
