Rev. Ellis Laverne Hacker 87, Springfield, MO. passed away in his home on May 1, 2020. He was born on August 22, 1932, in Jacksonville, Illinois, to James Ellis and Alice June (Large) Hacker. He was a retired minister of the gospel, for The Assemblies of God. He had pastored churches in Missouri and Kansas for 63 years. He loved his Lord and leading others to Christ.
Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, a son : Richard Hacker, his step-father: Dale Hay, and his sister, Joan Gilbert. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Vera (Clements) Hacker, his son, Tim Hacker and his wife, Tricia, and seven grandchildren: Cameron Hacker, Tylar Hacker, Lacy Hacker, Rich Hacker, Kristin Gonzalez, Ruth Stokes, and Michelle Hacker, nine great-grandchildren, three sisters: Jeanette Plank, Carolyn Little, and Faye Kershaw.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2020, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, May 4, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial Donations may be made to the Oak Grove Assembly Of God Church.
