Ronald Steven Sharick, 74, passed away August 10 at Cox South after a long fight with diabetes. Ron passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Ron was born in Springfield MO to Deloris Howard and Arch Sharick. Ron loved his country and served in the Air Force as well as the Army where he participated in Operation Desert Storm. As a civilian, he worked at City Utilities for 25 years until his retirement.
Ron was a hardworking and kind man who had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories. He could talk to anyone and make them feel special. He loved movies, garage sales, guns and knives.
Ron loved his town and the Ozarks, but most of all Ron loved his family. He leaves behind Mary Jane, his wife of 55 years; brother Darrell and wife Lynn of Arnold MO; sister Anita and husband Rodney of Nixa; son Steve and wife Stephanie of Ozark; daughter Patty of Batesville AR; and grandchildren Richie, Riain, Riley, Ronni, Hunter and Jack, along with great grand-daughter Indi. His body has been cremated and interred at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.

My deepest sympathy to Ronnies family. I had the pleasure of working with and being an old friend of "Pudoo," as I called him. He could always be relied upon and a joy to converse with. Ronnie really was a big contributor to making my retirement from City Utilities a very happy event that I will never forget. Many times, after our retirements we would talk on the phone for hours, always very enjoyable. He will be sorely missed by so many.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Ron's family. I worked at the Southwest Power Station when Ron worked there. He was always coming up with these great stories! He would either leave you laughing or leave you pondering from what he said. So sorry for your loss.

I worked with Ron for many years at the power station and every time I went down to the storeroom, I looked forward to seeing big Ronnie. I always found him in good spirits and enjoyed talking to him. He will be missed and remembered by many.
