Lowell Fay, 76, passed away unexpectantly on January 22, 2021 in Springfield Missouri.
Born April 20, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri, Lowell grew up in the Gladstone area and graduated from Ozark High School in 1962. After working at 3M in Springfield, Lowell founded his first company Hammond Sheet Metal. Later he founded Southwest Industrial Supply with subsidiaries SIS Paint and HTD Batteries, companies which he was still operating.
Lowell was a husband, father, grandfather, entrepreneur, classic car collector, avid bird watcher and outdoor enthusiast. He had a big heart, was a great storyteller and touched many lives. Lowell loved travel and visited far away destinations such as Africa, Europe, and Australia. He loved watching old western movies with his grandsons. A member of the ELKS Club and Ducks Unlimited, Lowell enjoyed meetings with good friends and good food.
Lowell was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nathan and Christine Fay, as well as sisters Linda Wheeler and Sylvia Hein. He is survived by his wife Kathy Fay, daughter MerriAnne Merlo, grandsons Joey and Alec Merlo, a stepson Corey Harrington, cherished work family and many friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 29th, 2021 at Selmore Cemetery in Ozark, MO at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Ozarks Audubon Society, a local chapter his father helped to found or a charity of choice.
