Eddie (Edd) Lee Liniger went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, February 12, 2021 Edd died after a short bout with cancer. He was surrounded with love from his wife, Cheryl, his brother, Fred, and Fred’s wife, Theresa, and his cousin, Shirley Mahan when he died at home in Springfield, MO. He was born to Howard and Beulah Liniger (Mahan) June 28, 1948 in Nor wood, MO.
He was loved by so many. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Cheryl Ann Liniger (Ferwerda), twin brother, Fred and his wife, Theresa as well as many nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his much loved daughter, Jennifer Suzanne Liniger Stedman, his sisters, Ruth Burks and Mary Lou Luck.
He was a Viet Nam veteran who served in the US Navy four years. He was assigned to the air craft carrier, USS Hornet and was on board when the Apollo Eleven crew splashed down. Edd worked at Zenith in Springfield for a short time before his employment of over 32 years at Southwestern Bell (AT&T). He was an avid gardener as well as dog-lover. Edd made many wonderful friends and neighbors everywhere he went.
The funeral will be at Greenlawn South on Battlefield in Springfield, MO on Monday, February 22 with visitation at 10:00 and service at 11:00. He is to be buried at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO on Southwood Rd.
