Charles Lavern Hagan, 76, went to his heavenly home on May 10, 2021. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and loved the Lord.
He was born on October 17, 1944 in Savannah, Missouri. Charles graduated from Savannah High School. He worked as a machinist during his career at Westernlithotec, University of Missouri-Rolla, and the University of Iowa.
On March 23, 1968 , in Warden, Illinois, he was united in marriage to April Hagan (Bailey). They met at McDonnell Aircraft.
He served in the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War and attended Seminole Baptist Church. Charles loved to cook, play cards, read his bible and spend time with his family. He also remodeled many homes.
Charles is preceeded in death by his parents, Melvin and Edith Hagan.
He is survived by his wife, April Hagan,2 daughter’s; Angel (Curt) Dunsbergen and Carla (Brian) Annin, 3 grandchildren; Kaitlin Debrower, Rick Dunsbergen, and Brandon (Gam) Annin, and 2 great-grandchildren; Denver Debrower and Holland Debrower. Also surviving are 4 brothers; Melvin (Shirley) Hagan, Jim (Nancy) Hagan, David Hagan, Rick (Judy) Hagan, and 3 sisters; Cleta Roberts, Fran (Bill) Burns, and Frieda (Daryl) Houston, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 13, 2021, 5:00-7:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral service will be on Friday, May 14, 2021, 10:00am, also at Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
