Donald Dean “Pete” Bass was born February 28th, 1963 in Marshfield, MO to Don W. Bass and Earlene Batson (Bass) Frazier. Pete passed away on July 21st, 2021 at the age of 58 in Fair Grove, MO.
He was married to his high school sweetheart, Annette Crunkleton, on December 6, 1985. Together they had two children, Benjamin Seth Bass and Abby Gayle (Bass) Replogle.
Pete was known and loved by many never passing up the opportunity to tell a joke, show off a card trick, or make a batch of no-bake cookies.
Pete was a farmer at heart. You could always catch him driving from property to property checking and feeding cattle with his border collie, Jed, on the back of his truck. He was always happy to be cutting, raking, or baling hay; which was good because he did it night and day for about six months of the year. However, he would never turn down a rider or a gate opener.
Not only was he a son, husband, and father, but most importantly he was a PePaw. He would always light up while giving Mia trouble, or as Mia would say, “PePaw is ‘aggertating’ me”, and whistling and talking to Hudson trying to get a big smile out of him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Don W. Bass and niece, Tara Bass.
He is survived by his mother, Earlene Frazier, and Leland, of Buffalo, MO. Wife, Annette Bass, of the home. Sister, Donna Gravitt, of Buffalo, MO. Brother, Danny Bass, and Sam, of Clarksburg, MO. Step-Sister, Teresa Frazier, of Odessa, MO. Son, Benjamin Bass, and Alyvia and their son Hudson, of Fair Grove, MO. Daughter, Abby (Bass) Replogle, and Ethan and their daughter Mia, of Fair Grove, MO. Son, Jacob Griffith, and Kristina and Chance, Haley, Blane, and Gage. As well as many other family and friends who will miss him greatly.
As Pete always said, “If I don’t see you in the future, I’ll see you in the pasture.”
