Lois Rae Gregory, born in Mansfield, MO October 11, 1942 to the parents of Clarence and Leota Fleetwood. After a short illness she passed onto the glory of Gods arms on July 26, 2021 at 78 years old.
Lois went to Central High School with her childhood friend, Connie Crain. Connie and Lois have seen each other through their school years, marriages, raising their children, the joys of grandchildren and many other special moments. Lois would tell the story many times of how her and Connie would sit on the front porch as kids and play jacks – she loved that.
Lois married her previous husband, Larry Sexton on October 10th, 1959 and they had one daughter, Pam Ransom of Springfield, MO. Their marriage was cut short due to his untimely passing. On February 4th, 1972 she married her current husband Larry Gregory of Hartville, MO. One of their favorite things to do was to go to Sam’s on Saturdays, get a hotdog and people watch.
Lois worked as a secretary through the years at American National Insurance and Crown Finance. She really enjoyed her work however, her main goal in life was to always be helping people, always putting others before herself. She took great care of her parents and mother in-law in their aging years. She was a loving and caring wife to Larry and she was a terrific mother to Pam and mother in-law to Wally (making him his own stash of peanut clusters for the holidays). She was also an extra special grandmother to Lindsay and Conner.
She enjoyed “girls day” shopping trips with her daughter and friends. They could always find a bargain that they just had to have and had a nice lunch to highlight the day.
She loved her dogs, Sammy and Bentley. They would all watch TV together in her recliner most nights. They will miss her greatly.
Lois was a beautiful person both inside and out. We should all try to keep a little of her with us every day. Help others, think of others – always.
Lois was preceded in death by her brother Sheryl Dean Fleetwood, her previous husband, Larry Sexton, her parents, Clarence and Leota Fleetwood, and her grandson, Conner Ransom, who she loved with all her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Gregory, her daughter, Pam Ransom (husband Wally), her granddaughter, Lindsay Ransom and her brother Bob Fleetwood (wife Jennell), and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
