Warren James (Jim) Hill, 88, passed peacefully to his heavenly home on August 15, 2021. He was born on November 10, 1932. He was the seventh of nine children of Homer Ransom (HR) and Maude (Jackson) Hill of Red Top, Missouri. He graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1950, where he was class president his senior year. After high school he served in the US Army and returned home in 1955. He went on to further his education at Southwest Missouri State College (Missouri State University).
Upon graduating from college, he worked for Carnation Milk Company for 19 years in Harrison, AR; Galax, VA; and Statesville, NC. Following his job at Carnation Milk Company, he returned to his hometown of Springfield, Missouri, where he joined his three brothers at Hill Brothers Plating. In retirement, he worked nine years at Walmart meeting and greeting customers.
Jim was an active church member, serving as an Elder and Board Chairman at First Christian Church in Harrison AR; First Christian Church in Galax, VA; and Central Christian in Springfield, MO.
He was a member and served as president of the Harrison Kiwanis club.
Jim will be leaving behind the love of his life and wife of 68 years, Reva Lee (Potter) Hill. In 1952 their wedding was the first ceremony held at High Prairie Christian Church. Together they had five children.
Jim is survived by his wife, Reva, and children, Terry Mink (Brady) Kernersville, NC; Dr. Randall Hill (Amy) Charleston, WV; Tim Hill (Nancy) Springfield, Missouri, and Todd Hill (Mandi) Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren Brandi, Jamie (Sarah), Madison, and Preston Hill all of West Virginia; Aspen, Maverick, Laramie, and Journey Hill of Springfield, Mo, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Ernest (Claudia) Hill; Gene (Anita) Hill, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, 4 sisters (Wilma, Mildred, Nora, and Jewel) and 2 brothers, (Homer and Lewis).
Jim was kind-hearted and fun loving with a witty sense of humor. He never met a stranger, and he always had a funny story to tell. Jim looked to help people in need.
Viewing will be on Wednesday, August 18 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Greenlawn East Funeral Home, Springfield. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 19 at 11 am at High Prairie Christian Church.
