James attended Hillcrest High School in Springfield, MO and was a professional mover for over 30 years for one company. His boss, Shannon, became like family to him as he started working for him when he was 18 years old.
James was quick witted and seemed to have an endless supply of funny jokes, resulting in constant barrels of laughs for friends and family. It was evident he loved his family immensely and loved spending time with them. Known as Uncle Chris, he was especially fond of his nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed cooking and grilling, and was known for his homemade chili, a staple at most family holiday gatherings.
James’ best friend was Howard Woodbridge (Woody). Their friendship spanned over 30 years, and eventually became his brother-in-law. He meant so much to James and was often there to lend an ear to him or offer his advice when necessary.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
James’ celebration of life will be on Sunday, November 14th from 2:00-4:00 pm. His homecoming will be on Monday, November 15th at 10:00 am under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Pastor Carlton Coon will be officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
