John Thomas King, 57, of Rogersville passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021. He was born April 6, 1964, in Kansas City, MO. He was the son of the late Thomas Rae King and Virginia (Russell) King. John worked various maintenance jobs throughout his life and at one point was part owner in a company within the food service industry. John was a man of few words, but his words were important. He was patient, he was handy, and he drove slower than anyone you’ve ever met. He enjoyed spending time in his little white shed, working on trucks and various machinery. He enjoyed being outside and sitting on his porch, especially in the summer.
John was a proud father, and an even more proud Papa. He loved following Brody around, no matter where he was going. He was the greatest son, brother, and uncle. He was the family constant, the one that was always there. He was a safe place to land when you needed someone. He truly kept our family grounded. He had an ornery streak but was one of the best, most honest men you would ever meet. He was so giving and understanding.
John was survived by his daughter, Shelby King and Austin Bogart; a grandson, Brody Thomas Bogart; two sisters, Kim Salinas and husband Mario, Sarah Galloway and husband Doug; one brother Ed King; nieces and nephews, Sheridan, Hunter, Carson and Claire Galloway and one great niece, Collins, and many other close relatives and friends.
A visitation for John will be held on Sunday November 21, 2021, at Greenlawn East from 4-6 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 22, 2021, at Greenlawn East at 10 a.m. with burial services to follow at White Oak Cemetery in Rogersville.
