Marilyn Kay Wells, age 81, of Springfield was born August 28, 1941 in a small house in Greene County to Harley and Irene Israel. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1959 and she worked for City Utilities from 1966-2003 (37 years). She married Bobby Gene Wells on June 27, 1959 at Mt. Comfort Church.
She actively provided and served meals through her church. Her hobbies included cross stitch, sewing, needle point and painting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending Cardinal baseball games, and going to the lake. She also was a big Elvis Presley fan.
Marilyn was such a positive, supportive and selfless individual. With the loss of her light, the world will be a lonelier place for all who knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter Virginia (Randy) Medley and her son Greg (Barbara) Wells. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Michael (Ashley) Hoover, Jesse (Amanda) Medley, Ryan Wells, Alyssa (Sean) Lowry, and Kaitlyn (Brenan) Melton; five great grandchildren: Ethan Wells, Evelynn and Clara Lowry, Aycen and Adeline Medley. She is also survived by her sister Elaine (Bob) Hoekstra, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, including her City Utilities Retired Group.
