Vera Haynes, 92, Springfield, MO. passed away September 12, 2022, in her home, after a short illness. Vera was born in Walsenburg, Colorado, on November 8, 1929, to Robert and Vera Topping. She was a homemaker and attended the Methodist Church. She was a member of the V.F.W. women’s auxiliary. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan, she also loved bowling, bingo, and Casino Slots.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband James B. Haynes, in 1996, her parents, and her seven siblings. She is survived by her two sons: Johnny J. Haynes and his wife, Susan, Jimmy L. Haynes and and his wife, Jolene, and her daughter: Debbie L. Heatherly, six grandchildren: Johnny Joe, Stacy, Chrissy, Jason, Andrea, and Eric, seven great-grandchildren: Zach, Josh, Colton, Ashtyn, Ethan, Austin, and Aubrey, and three great-great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Vincent and Henry.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, No further services are planned, After cremation, Vera will be buried beside her husband, at White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Greene County Humane Society.
