Marilyn J. Griffis of Springfield went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 83. She passed away November 28, 2022 at the Baptist Home in Ozark. She was born September 5, 1939, to Lanis and Agnes Stuart of Luray, Kansas, and graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Kansas.
She was an active member of South Haven Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday School class for many years. She was active in the Church and touched many people’s lives by being kind, compassionate, and caring to all those she met and witnessed to.
She retired from Sweetheart Cup CO. in 2001 after 40 years. She loved her work and made many friends. After retirement, she worked at Penmac Staffing and also volunteered at Mercy Auxiliary and Baptist Home Auxiliary. She was a proud Mother and Grandmother and loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and bringing love and joy to all those who knew and loved her.
Marilyn is survived by a son and wife Brian and Lora Griffis and granddaughter Aubrey of Springfield, and a brother and wife Dale and Barbara Stuart of Edinboro, PA. Her love of her life was her granddaughter, Aubrey of Springfield and her two nephews and their families of Edinboro, PA.
Visitation will be from 2-4 pm, Monday, December 5, 2022 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. No formal funeral will be held due to her request. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to South Haven Baptist Church, Springfield, MO.
