Janet Lee Gott, age 87, of Halfway, Missouri passed away on December 1, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO following a brief illness.
Janet was born on August 11, 1935, to Floyd and Dorothy (Wiseman) Wommack in Strafford, Missouri. She had many fond memories growing up and several of those involved church. In fact, Church was where she met her husband, Allen Gott, who preceded her in death earlier this year. They walked through life together, enduring many joys and challenges during their 67 years.
Janet worked hard in the home providing for those she loved most. When she wasn’t working in the garden, she was patching jeans and coveralls, making dresses, or cooking for anyone that the kids brought home with them. A favorite motto was “Patch it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!” She enjoyed many things in life, but her favorite was being a grandma. She took great pride in each one and loved having family get-togethers.
Janet is survived by her sons: Richard (Becky) Gott, Rex (Anita) Gott, and Randy (Becky) Gott; her daughter, Teresa (Mike) Owens; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving her, is sister-in-law, Sara Belle Wommack, special cousin, Barbara Austin, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she remembered fondly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Toney Allen; one son, Bryan Sydney Gott; a granddaughter, Mindy Gott; a great-grandson, Jeremiah Forrest; her parent, Floyd and Dorothy Wommack; her brother, Bob Wommack; and Allen’s parents, Heber and Opal Gott.
A visitation for Janet will be held on December 5, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, Missouri. A graveside service for Janet will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Rock Prairie Cemetery in Halfway, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rock Prairie Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.
