Pam Durrington, 63, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on December 16, 2022. Family was by her side as she passed. Pam was born on March 13, 1959, to Charles W. and Wanda (Montgomery) Gross in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Pam spent most of her adult life working in the poultry industry, retiring as a buyer in 2008 after 30 years. After this retirement, she spent a few years working in retail part time before completely retiring from the working world in 2020 in order to relax and enjoy life.
Pam married the love of her life, Doug, in 1980, sharing 42 wonderful years of marriage until her passing. Pam and Doug were blessed with two children, Christal and Douglas. She devoted her life to being a caring mother, wife, and Nana. She always supported her husband in everything and was by his side through all things, they loved each other dearly and were best friends.
Pam dedicated her life to her family and to creating a loving home. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and sweet spirit and always put others first. She loved her family dearly and her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the lights of her life. She enjoyed her family immensely and took every opportunity to get everyone together. Her relationships with her siblings were cherished. She was an amazing wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She touched the lives of so many people. She will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.
Pam was preceded in death by her father, her father-in-law Everett Durrington who she looked at as a father, and mother-in-law Patsy Durrington. She is survived by her husband, Doug; children,
Christal Mercado and Douglas Durrington; grandchildren, Mercedes Epps, Tyler Mercado, and Victoria Mercado; great-grandchildren, Jaylii, Makenlii, and Amarii Epps; her brother Charles (J.R.), two sisters Janice and Stephanie; her mother; and numerous well-loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services will take place on Friday, December 23 at 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to The American Cancer Society.
