Louise Condren, 79 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Cox Hospital in Springfield, MO. Louise was born in Ventura, California on August 20, 1943 to Willie McConnell and Dorothy Rella (Anderson) McConnell. Louise loved growing up in the Ventura area. She shared many fond memories of going to the ocean with friends and family.

Louise met Theo Condren working at the lemon packing factory in California.  They were married on June 19, 1960 and were married for 61 years until Theo’s passing in May 2022.  They had two children: Rebecca (Becky) Ann, Donald (Donny) Len.

Theo & Louise moved back to Bolivar in 1961 where Louise was a homemaker while their children were very young. She then worked the next 13 years as aide for the State Training School for the Severely Handicapped. From there, she developed a love for working with young minds.

She started a child care service in the home in 1983. She would continue this service for the next 35 years.  She felt blessed that she cared for the children of multiple family members which included her grandchildren and eventually a great grandchild. The children that were not blood related became family very quickly. Many still consider her another grandmother and were still in contact with her. She always tried to make each child feel special. She also ensured all the children could recognize Elvis songs.

Louise loved to play dominoes, family card games, and board games. She was always very tough competition. She would always say that the more Diet Coke she drank, the better she played. She used that fighting spirit to endure many health issues in the last few years. However, due to poor health, she joined Theo as a resident of Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in March 2022. There, she found a new group of friends where she was known for playing dominoes, solitaire, and befriending the other residents.

Louise was a member of the National Society of Daughters of American Revolution until her health declined. Once, she visited the National Headquarters in Washington DC with members of her family and other Missouri daughters.

She was a member of the Bolivar Church of Christ.

Louise is survived by her: two children, Becky (William) Walker, Donny (Cindy) Condren; grandchildren, Cody (Samantha) Walker, Travis Cole Condren, Lacey (Ryan) Stokes, Clay (Kaitlyn) Underwood; great grandchildren, Duncan Walker, Luna Walker, Easton Stokes, Weston Underwood; her siblings; brother, Bill (Fayth) McConnell; sister, Annie Keith, her brother in laws, Harold Condren, Mike (Joanna) Condren, sister in laws, Nancy McKinney, Jane (Vestal) Alexander, Ann Miles, Helen (John) Camey. She is predeceased by her husband, Theo, her father, Willie McConnell, her mother, Dorothy McConnell; her brother, Billy Joe (Junior) McConnell, her sisters, Mary Ann Clifton & Maxine Dowling.

A visitation for Louise will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Pitts Chapel Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Inurnment will follow the memorial service at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri. Care of Louise has been entrusted to Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes.
