“I have never felt this way in my life,” William F. Brown said while recovering from broken hip surgery and fighting two communicable diseases: COVID and pneumonia. We never thought those would be some of his last words having survived the Korean and Vietnam wars. Bill served a humble and highly honorable 20 years in the U.S. Army, and had various leadership roles ranking up to Master Sergeant. He was known as a flawless parachute jump instructor for having 0 injured students his entire career. Stories of heroism only known to Bill are likely to exist. This was followed by 20 more years at the Federal Medical Prison. His quality work, service, organizational skills, and leadership skills did not go unnoticed in both careers. He retired in 1991 and enjoyed traveling with his wife, reading political books, cutting the grass, and playing with his grandchildren.

Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather at the time of his passing on Sunday, January 8, 2023. After 90 years, he is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Susan; and grandchildren, Dillon (his wife Megan), Cooper, and his 1-month old great grandson, Brooks. Bill chose to have no funeral service and will rest in peace next to his son, Billy Brown, awaiting his wife to accompany them in the middle to hold hands alongside each other forever.
