On January 17th, 2023, Robert Dale Wilson (86) passed away after a brief illness. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, fisherman, and friend to anyone he met. Bob was born July 14th, 1936 in Lebanon, MO. In 1953, Bob enlisted in the Marine Corp. After receiving an honorable discharge, Bob settled back in Springfield MO. In 1957, Bob was at Grant Beach pool where he met and fell in love with Sharon Stockstill. They were married in Springfield in 1959. Bob and Sharon had almost 64 years of wedded bliss. During those years they enjoyed (most of the time) raising their 4 children. Bob was a bricklayer, by trade, having a successful business for many years. After a second story fall, he chose to retire. Later he babysat three of his granddaughters, which he enjoyed. Bob still went fishing, weekly breakfast with his friends, the casino with Sharon, and still had the driest humor in the room. Bob is survived by his wife Sharon, brother Joe & Jan Wilson, brother-in-law Bob Stockstill, kids/spouses Rick/Spring Marty/Holly Tracy/Rowdy Ginger/Amon. Grandkids Destany, Kyle, Mitchell, Marley, Chase, Chandler, Gunnar, Natalie, Mackenzie, Samson and Hank, 5 great grand kids an huge numbers of adoring nieces and nephews. They say that the best gift a father give to his children, is to love their mother. I can tell you with full conviction that he did just that. Bob was truly a Legend.
Funeral will be at 1:00PM on Monday, January 23rd at Greenlawn-North Funeral Home. Burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Springfield.
